SpiderTech PowerStrips are the newest addition to the precut strips segment of the kinesiology tape market. PowerStrips consist of precut kinesiology tape strips in X, Y and I configurations, and come packaged in convenient accordion packs.
When I first saw the precut X-PowerStrips, I was skeptical about how popular they would be. My research had indicated that an X-configuration was rather specialized, and not used in many common taping applications. In addition, cutting an x-configuration from a roll of tape required accurate measuring and cutting.
I’m now happy to report that my skepticism was unfounded, and SpiderTech’s X-Strips have created a unique niche for themselves within the kinesiology taping market. Because of their small size (2″ wide x 8″ long), they can be easily applied directly over painful areas. including strains, sprains and bruises. They quickly and effectively relieve pain and keep it at bay the entire time they’re worn. They can be used on their own or as part of a larger application, applied directly over hot spots.
One of my favorite Power Strips features is the backing. The back of each strip is divided into numbered sections, with perforations in the backing that allow it to be removed one section at a time. Not only does this make it easier for a beginner to apply an X-Strip, but it also helps prevent the tape from sticking to itself (or your fingers) and becoming unusable.
Spider Tech X-Strips can be purchased individually or in bulk at Theratape.com. They come in beige, black, blue and pink, and are also available with SpiderTech’s patented Gentle Adhesive for sensitive skin.
